The Initiative "Germany – Land of Longevity" awarded Ulman Lindenberger, Karl Ulrich Mayer, Hanfried Helmchen, and Elisabeth Steinhagen-Thiessen its annual prize in the "Research" category for the Berlin Aging Study (BASE) on the occasion of the Demografiekongress 2012 in Berlin.
